Day ninety-nine of my 365 Day Writing Project.
Words: 1,300
There is something about Day 99. There’s just something about it that makes me finally feel justified in calling myself a writer. When that moment occurs – the moment one graduates from wanting to be a writer to actually being one – is more or less undefined. Some say that moment happens when the writer is published. Others say you are considered a writer when you get paid to write. And some say it is defined by the writer herself, as simple as declaring it as a part of her identity, who she is or strives to be.
Tomorrow will be the 100th day of my 365 Day Writing Project. This is a huge milestone for me and I’m absolutely pumped about it. I have been published, I have been paid to write and I consider being a writer part of who I am. But turning the corner to reach 100 consecutive days of writing is my moment. I have finally arrived. I am a writer.
An important step!!!
You earned it weeks and weeks ago — or probably months and months ago when you launched the blog/made your announcement — but ultimately it’s something that you must state and believe yourself.
Huge congrats!
