My 365 Day Writitng Project.
Time: 45 mins.
Words: 780
My next few posts will be short and sweet. I’m taking a trip to NYC this weekend with my oldest daughter, who is eight. I anticipate that we will be exhausted after all of the sight-seeing we do each day, so my project will certainly be difficult. I figure this blog can wait as long as I keep finding time to write every day, and if I have enough time, write about it here.
What keeps me on track are the words of Hugh Howey:
To begin with, you need to write. This seems axiomatic because it is. The only way to amass a pile of words into a book is to shovel some every single day. No days off. You have to form this habit; without it you are screwed.
I didn’t get a lot of writing done today because we are getting ready for this trip. However, I did write. As much as I would have preferred to go to bed since we are catching a train super early tomorrow morning, I told myself, “NO DAYS OFF.” It really does have to be this absolute. So I banged out a decent amount and will hopefully get more done tomorrow night. I will be visiting the Empire State Building tomorrow afternoon, so I’m hoping for some inspiration.
