Day ten of My 365 Day Writing Project
Time: 2 hours, 15 minutes
Words: just under 2,000
Today was a rebound day. A good one. As you might recall, yesterday was tough for me to get into my writing. I had to push myself to write even a small amount. I didn’t enjoy it. Luckily, when I woke up this morning those icky “not into it” feelings were gone. Tonight I sat down to write, and before I knew it two hours had passed.
The story I am working on is ever-changing, which I often do not anticipate. Is that odd? I can’t imagine that writers of fiction always know exactly where their story is going. If so, where is the fun in that? I certainly do not always know. The part of my creative process that breeds the spiderweb of ideas and storylines in my mind is the most exciting part. That is where I get lost, tumbling around in my thoughts to create something enjoyable and interesting. Then, I find the words to describe it.
Every day the process feels a little different. Maybe it changes because of the mood I’m in or what I ate that day. I hardly think it matters. What matters is that the story continues. It evolves, because I evolve with it.
